El Corte Inglés exceeded the pre-litigation procedure to build a large shopping center on Paseo de la Castellana, the land acquired in Adif 2014, for which it paid € 136 million.
The Madrid Urban Council's Sustainable Urban Development Commission today adopted a special plan plan that governs the package that is located on Castellana promenade 69.
The plan should be definitively approved for next week's plenary session.
Only Now Madrid voted for the special plan rejected by PSOE and the PP and Cs.
The plan has an impact on areas that Corte Ingles is located around Azca, very close to the Picasso Tower and the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, next to the El Corte Inglés shopping mall in Castellana, the flagship of the distribution group.
At the time of the acquisition, urban planning has created a 10,176-square-meter tertiary building, allowing both commercial use and offices, and 25,016 square meters underground (in principle for parking purposes).
The Corte Inglés shopping center in Castellana has 130,000 square meters of commercial and service area and more than 1,600 parking spaces.
