According to President-elect Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Faucit will continue to be maintained as Chief Medical Advisor and as a member of the COVID-19 Advisory Group.
Biden made a statement to CNN during an interview with Jake Tapper on Thursday. He said he spoke to Fauci earlier in the day about the need to build confidence in coronavirus vaccinations and that he “didn’t have to close the farm” to fight the virus.
Biden says he would be “happy” to receive the vaccine in public to prove its safety.
The president-elect also said he is asking the population to wear a mask for 100 days to help curb the spread of the virus, which has killed more than 275,000 Americans.
“They were inaugurated on the first day … I ask the public to mask it for 100 days, only 100 days. Not forever. For 100 days.”
