The fire in Orange County caused a mandatory evacuation from areas such as Silverado Canyon, Williams Canyon and Modjeska Canyon, as well as Forest Lake around Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills.
The mandatory zones for Bond Fire are red on the map above and the warning areas are orange.
By early Thursday, the fire had burned 2,000 acres. It is located just east of the Silverado Fire Scar, which burned 12,466 acres near Irvine a month ago.
A second, minor fire burned Thursday in southern California: an airport fire west of Corona in Riverside County. All evacuation warnings were lifted on Wednesday night.
