The program prioritizes young families and other affected communities, he said, adding that the historical incentive equals more than 3% of gross domestic product.
In an interview with CNN’s partner, CBC, Trudeau said he continues to ban non-essential travel to Canada, including maintaining a partial U.S. border embargo, because of peak values in Canada and around the world.
“Until the virus is significantly better controlled around the world, we will not lift restrictions at the border,” Trudeau told the CBC.
