COVID-19 cases increase by 127 in Upper Michigan on Saturday, state adds 8K

MARQUETTE, Michigan (WLUC) – UPDATE: Upper Michigan added 127 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday, while the state reported 8,080 new cases.

Along with these cases, there were 103 deaths nationwide, four of them in Upper Michigan. This puts all cases across the state at 350,021 and all deaths at 9,036. The current state recoveries are 165,269. The nationwide recovery amount is updated every Saturday on the MDHHS website.

In Upper Michigan, the most recent cases, deaths, and recoveries are as follows (alphabetical listing of counties):

  • Algeria: 10 cases
  • Baraga: (-10 cases)(Due to MDHHS data entry error), 1 death
  • Chippewa: 28 cases
  • Delta: 18 cases
  • Dickinson: 25 cases, 1 death
  • Gogebic: 6 cases
  • Houghton: 14 cases
  • Vas: 6 tok
  • Keweenaw: 0 cases
  • Luce: 2 cases
  • Mackinac: 4 cases
  • Marquette: 29 cases, 1 death
  • Menomine: (-7 cases) (Due to MDHHS data entry error), 1 death
  • Ontonagon: 0 cases
  • Schoolcraft: 2 cases

On Saturday, November 28, at 4:30 p.m., a total of 11,738 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 occurred in the Upper Peninsula during this outbreak. Of these, at least 5,926 are considered healed and 246 have been killed.

Of the 202,848 diagnostic test results reported to the state from the state of Upper Michigan for the entire coronavirus epidemic, 5.53% were positive for COVID-19 as of November 28th.
