Governor Andrew Cuomo unveiled a new Thanksgiving gown on Tuesday – a turkey face mask that the governor had declared and actually looked better.
At a press conference in Wyandanch, Long Face, Cuomo picked up the brown face cover with turkey eyes and beak, with the emblem of the State Department of Health on it.
The mask is labeled “Don’t be a turkey” and “Wear a mask”.
“We have a special mask for Thanksgiving because you know we’re all so creative in New York and we do things a little differently,” the governor said as he held up the mask. – Don’t be a turkey this Thanksgiving, wear a mask!
“How beautiful is this mask? Are you ready? Cuomo said before putting the mask on his face. – Look how beautiful this is? Tell me the truth. Especially good for me – it covers my nose and everything. “
The governor then declared, “I’m better looking with a mask!”
Cuomo urged New Yorkers not to travel and exercise caution during Thanksgiving as cases of the coronavirus continue to ignite in the Empire State.
“We need to be extremely prepared. We need to be very careful about increasing COVID, Cuomo said, warning, “We will see a significant peak at the current rate of COVID growth.”
Over the past three weeks, COVID-19-related hospitalizations in New York have increased by 128 percent, from 1,253 at the beginning of the month to 2,856 on Monday, according to state data.
“In this festive period, we need to be smarter and different than the way we have treated the past festive periods,” Cuomo said, explaining that “this is not a political situation.”
He noted that both the Trump Government’s Center for Disease Prevention and Control and advisers to President-elect Joe Biden say celebrating the holidays with members of the same household poses the least risk of spreading the coronavirus.
“When was the last time you heard Donald Trump’s counselors and Joe Biden’s counselors say the same thing?” Cuomo said. “It’s not about politics. It’s about only the health experts examining the facts. “
Meanwhile, the daily state coronavirus positivity rate fell slightly to 2.96 percent, according to the latest state data.
The data show that ICU enrollment has risen to 14 in the last 24 hours, bringing the new total to 559.
