Colorado Governor Jared Polis and First Mr Marlon Reis tested positive for COVID-19 – the Governor tweeted Saturday night.
Polis and Reis are “asymptomatic, feel good, and continue to be isolated in their homes”.
“Marlon and I have had a good time so far and are in a good mood,” Polis said in a statement.
Polis said he would work remotely and “continue to perform his duties and responsibilities.” Polis began his quarantine on Wednesday after finding out he was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
The new coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Colorado and across the country. The state estimated Tuesday that all of the 41 people here are contagious, and Polis and other officials have been warning for weeks about a potential catastrophic overload on the state’s health care system.
Polis said, “No person or family is free of the virus. I ask all coloradans to be careful, limit public interactions, wear a public mask, stay 6 feet away from others, and wash their hands regularly.
