Ken Langone: A billionaire who supports Trump says Republicans have betrayed America

Langone, who voted for Trump in 2016 and gave him credit for improving the economy, the president said, “exhausted everything” as he tried to overthrow the results of the 2020 elections. “Biden is the president,” Langone said on CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

“Last Wednesday was a disgrace and should never have happened in this country, and if all the hearts of Americans are not broken, something is wrong,” Langone said, referring to the siege of the Capitol. – It must break my heart. I didn’t report for that.

The billionaire said he would focus on supporting Biden in every way possible.

“From day one, I will do everything I can to do my best to make Joe Biden the most successful president in the country’s history,” he said. “If you have a great, successful president, we will all win.”

Langone says the country is facing “major problems,” citing the epidemic, rising debt, crumbling infrastructure and an underfunded public school system.

In an interview with CNN shortly before the 2016 election, Langone said support for Trump’s candidacy was “not about Trump.”

“This American people uses Trump as a symbol to express their anger and disgust at the system,” he said.

The businessman’s frustration underscores a broader message: the United States is breaking up with Trump. In early January, more than 170 business leaders signed a letter calling on Congress to accept Biden’s victory.
America’s largest companies are suspending donations to members of the Republican Congress who objected to the election college votes. Other businesses have eliminated all political donations.
