A young fellow on Senator Kelly Loeffler’s team died in a car accident, Loeffler, R-Ga. confirmed and identified him on Friday as Harrison Deal.

“My heart hurts because of his family, and Jeff and I will continue to surround them with love and prayer for days to come,” he said. “Harrison was a beloved member of our campaign team. More importantly, Harrison was a smart, bright, loving, loyal, and outstanding young man. “
Following the news, Loeffler returned to Atlanta and missed a campaign event featuring Vice President Mike Pence in Savannah.
Senate David Perdue, R-Ga., Who is also campaigning for the Senate in January, said Deal had previously interned for it.
Loeffler and Perdue will meet with Democratic opponents, Respect Raphael Warnock, and Jon Ossoff on January 5 in two Georgian proceedings that will decide which party controls the Senate.
