Live Updates: Ossoff Verifies Senate Seat as All Eyes Focus on Georgia

Georgia’s Democratic Senate candidate Jon Ossoff on Sunday fired a shot at Mitch McConnell, the Senate’s majority leader, saying if the Democrats didn’t gain control of the House of Congress, McConnell would stone all the legislation through the Senate.

Ossoff, who will be elected on January 5 against Republican Senator David Perdue, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” show that the administration of President-elect Joe Biden “needs the ability … to govern in the midst of a crisis” and that Republicans a Senate in its possession would obstruct any initiative of the incoming White House, especially in dealing with the coronavirus epidemic.
