The victims were an adult man who died at the scene and an adult woman who died at a local hospital.

Earlier today, Mayor Liccardo tweeted, “Our hearts were torn for the victims and their loved ones during last night’s horrific knife stab at the Grace Baptist Church in downtown – we lost two members of the community. We pray for the healing of others severely wounded during the attack. We will provide more as soon as the information becomes available. ”

A video of the scene, recorded by CBS San Francisco, shows a large police presence and a number of emergency vehicles in front of the house of prayer.

It is currently unclear what led to the punctures. According to police, no services were held in the church at the time.

According to the SJPD, a number of “homeless” people were brought to the church in the hours before to “free them from the cold”.

Police did not say if any of the homeless were involved.

The church is located near the campus of San Jose State University.

More information will be released as it becomes available, the department said.
