(Reuters) – Moderna Inc. announced on Thursday that 100 to 125 million doses of experimental COVID-19 vaccine will be available worldwide in the first quarter of 2021.

The company said 85 to 100 million of these doses will be available in the United States and 15 to 25 million outside the country.

Doses in the first quarter are between 500 and 1 billion, which the company is expected to produce globally in 2021, Moderna said.

The results of an early-stage study showed that the mRNA-1273 vaccine produced high levels of binding and neutralizing antibodies that decreased slightly over time but remained high in all participants three months after booster vaccination.

The pharmaceutical maker’s shares fell about 2% to $ 154.4 after the bell.
