NC Governor Cooper Issues Modified “State Home” as COVID-19 Trends Deteriorate


CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) – Governor Roy Cooper announced new restrictions on Tuesday as the number of coronaviruses in North Carolina remains at a record high.

The governor announced that the amended stay at home, the 181st Implementing Decree, would begin at 5 pm on Friday, December 11th.

“The purpose of this modified stay at home policy is to limit gatherings and bring people home where they are safer, especially during the holidays,” Cooper said.

Cooper said the order required people to stay home between 10pm and 5am

Most businesses must close by 10pm and on-site alcohol sales must end by 9pm

Cooper said these restrictions will run until 5 p.m., Jan. 8.
