Nearly 400 unopened ballots were discovered on the south side of Milwaukee during the recount

Election officials said 386 unopened ballots were discovered on the south side of Milwaukee on Tuesday morning.

“There appears to have been a human error on election day,” Claire Woodall-Vogg, executive director of the Milwaukee Electoral Commission, told reporters.

“It was at the bottom of all the unopened ballot papers, with all the envelopes with open certificates on top,” Woodall-Vogg said. “And knowing how thorough we are at the Central Count, I have no doubt that these ballots were told to the table that they were complete, not indicating to anyone that half the parish is missing.

So far, zero ballots have not been rejected due to Trump campaign demands in the Milwaukee County recount.

Woodall-Vogg said he noticed a lower-than-normal turnout in Division 315 in Milwaukee, but did not have time to analyze the data thoroughly with his team.

“If there’s one positive thing that comes out of the recount, it’s that all votes are actually counted, including this 386,” he added.

The ballots discovered can really help President Trump, Woodall-Vogg said.

“Just based on the assumptions of geography and trends, I’d say it could probably help Donald Trump. We’ll see if we run the full result,” Woodall-Vogg said.
