The National Meteorological Service updated snow forecasts for the south of New England on Saturday – and you could see snow up to six centimeters in some areas.
A distance of one to three inches is possible for Providence; it can be up to half a foot in the northwestern part of the state.
Below, the NWS forecast for Providence and surrounding areas is available on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Tonight: Rain. Low around 42. Southwest wind 5-10 mph after midnight light and variable. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall is possible between a quarter and a half inches.
Saturday: Rain and snow before 3pm, then between 3pm and 4pm and then snow after 4pm. The rain can be heavy at times. The temperature drops to 34 around 16 hours. Windy north wind increases from 8 to 13 mph / hour to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon. The wind can reach wind gusts of up to 43 mph. The chance of precipitation is 100%. New 1-3 inch snow accumulation is possible.
Saturday Night: Chance of Snow, especially before 10pm. It was cloudy in the early evening and then gradually turned to low around 29. Blowing, northwest wind 14-21 mph, gusts up to 38 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than half an inch is possible.
Sunday: Sunny, high near 39. Northwest wind 10-14 mph, gusts up to 24 mph.
