Police are investigating the murder and suicide in Schodack

“We found three dead victims and one victim was transported to the Albany Medical Center with gunshot wounds,” said John Hourigan, Schodack’s chief of police. “We’re not looking for suspects right now,” he added.

Of the four ambulances leaving the scene, the last three went out with their lights and sirens. By then, evidence technicians and BCI investigators were already working hard.

– We are participating in this investigation very in advance. This is a very early stage. We expect to have a lot more information, probably within the next 24 hours, ”said Captain Richard O’Brien of the New York State Police.

Sources tell NewsChannel 13 that a man shot his wife, mother-in-law and daughter and then turned the gun on himself.

Dan Levy, 13 of NewsChannel, asked investigators if all the shootings took place inside the house.

“We believe, but again the investigation is very early,” Captain O’Brien replied. – I can’t say that with confirmation.

Police would not comment if they had previously answered any calls from the house.

They stress that the public is not in danger and are not looking for other people involved in the investigation.

However, they have enough police work left to put together a motif.

“We delve into neighborhood interviews, family friends, backgrounds, employment, co-workers,” the captain said.

This is an evolving story. NewsChannel 13 will continue to provide updates as they become available.
