Pompeo: ‘Significant evidence’ coronavirus comes from Wuhan laboratory despite WHO claims

Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said there was “significant evidence” that the coronavirus came from a Chinese laboratory, which casts doubt on Tuesday by the World Health Organization’s assessment that it is likely to spread from animals to humans.

Pompeo told the “America’s Newsroom” that the Trump government had left the WHO because it was “corrupt” and said it hoped China’s influence on the organization would not affect its conclusions about the origin of the deadly virus.

“I have to say we left the World Health Organization because we thought it was corrupt,” Pompeo said. “He was politicized. He knelt in China before Secretary-General Xin Qing-ping. I hope this is not the situation that was announced today.”

The WHO announced its initial findings at a press conference on Tuesday, but required further research and studies.

Pompeo hoped he hoped the WHO team could allow Wuhan doctors and technicians to be heard, away from the potential intervention of the Chinese Communist Party, which had spread conspiracy theories about the virus’s origins, such as suggesting the U.S. military was behind its initial spread.

WHO TAKES DANGER IN THE COUID-19 VIRUS FROM THE WUHAN FOOT THAT DOES NOT CALL THE CIRCUIT IN PARTICULAR

“I hope they visited all the data, all the science, in the lab, talked to the doctors, continued them in a private interview, in places where they could really tell the truth about what happened,” he said. “Not under the supervision of a communist party sitting in the back of the room and making sure they’re in line with the Communist Party. I’m looking forward to their results. I still know there was significant evidence that this could happen from that lab. “

The Wuhan Institute of Virology has collected extensive virus samples that suggest it may have caused the original epidemic by leaking the virus into the surrounding community. China has firmly rejected this possibility and has even promoted conspiracy theories that the virus originated elsewhere. The team is considering a number of theories as to how the disease first spread to humans.

It was initially discarded as a conspiracy theory when Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) Hovered the idea that he came from a super laboratory in Wuhan, and even the Washington Post editorial wrote last weekend that the idea should be investigated. China concealed the virus at the start of the epidemic and silenced journalists and doctors who tried to alert it.

US AIR CARRIERS IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA ARE IN PROGRESS EARLY IN RECOMMENDED ADMINISTRATION

Pompeo led an aggressive policy against China while in the Trump administration, which included classifying the horrific treatment of the Uighurs as “genocide.” The Trump administration continued to put pressure on Beijing in 2020, imposing sanctions on officials and companies for its activities, as well as Taiwan, Tibet and the South China Sea. Such penalties have been tightened as the White House blamed China for concealing information about Covid-19.

Pompeo urged President Biden to remain vigilant about China’s threat to the United States.

“We should not worry about General Xi Jinping’s feelings,” he said. “We should be concerned about protecting the American people … We must face the challenge that the Chinese Communist Party poses to America and the world.”
