Recharging the Nintendo Switch for Cyber Monday: Check out the Mario Kart kit at Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart

That’s part of the story Holiday Gift Guide 2020, CNET’s gift selections provide expert advice, reviews and recommendations on the latest technology gifts for you and your family.

The bad news: As Cyber Monday approaching the new Nintendo Switch Mario Kart package is very difficult to find the kit at the standard retail price of $ 299. The good news: The not impossible. We know because at CNET at least one person has been able to catch on Amazon in recent days and we’ve seen it in stock at Walmart – yes, only briefly – on Sunday morning, but it may be back soon to Cyber Monday. We keep track of the inventory and here you can find how to find it.

For starters, let’s talk about what you get in the box with the new $ 299 Switch Mario Kart package:

In other words, you get the same great hardware that can be plugged into a TV or played in your hand with a few free games. Even if you’re brand new to the Switch, you can grab a Joy-Con controller and jump to the Kart race out of the box. Then, since much of the Switch library is digital, you can download the digital version of any game you desire.

The package became “available” at most wholesalers – Amazon, Target, Best Buy and GameStop – on Sunday, November 22nd. But it immediately sold out everywhere (at least online), and it probably will. (We say “out of stock” if you can’t get it for the normal $ 299; plenty of third-party resellers are happy to sell it to you for hundreds.) To that end, we also keep tabs in stock on the “standard” Nintendo Switch – same exact hardware but no digital codes included (scroll down). And remember that Due to Black Friday and Cyber Monday discounts, Switch games have declined For $ 15-30, so you can put together a nice custom gift package.

Check the links here to see if you have stock at major manufacturers. But be warned: If you notice, you need to act fast – we’ve seen Amazon and Walmart stocks run out within minutes. There is currently no indication of a retailer’s scheduled inventory decline, but we are constantly updating this page with all the news.

Nintendo Switch black Friday package

As mentioned above, we last saw an online inventory at Walmart on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the Sunday after.

Best Buy had the package on the morning of November 22, but ran out immediately.

At least CNET staff were able to turn on the Amazon switch on Black Friday. If you are not in stock, you may see higher prices from third party resellers.

GameStop has a product page for the package, but we haven’t seen it in stock there yet.

Yes, Target also has a side to it. You may be in luck with sidewalk-wide pickup if you have it in stock at your local store.

Nintendo Switch consoles (not the Black Friday package)

They come with the same Switch hardware, however without the digital codes included in the above versions. The Switch is available with red and blue controls, gray controls, or Animal Crossing (game-based design, but without the title).

What is a good price for the switch?

The Mario Kart package is the best deal on Switch. Otherwise, you should consider yourself lucky to find it at the standard $ 299 list price. With packages and used consoles that sell for $ 400 or more, you win paying the “only” recommended retail price for the product. The The Switch Lite is $ 199 – and a little easier to find – but this model cannot be connected to a TV for big screen gaming.
