Representative Jordan raises “fundamental issues” in the Swalwell scandal

Rim Ohio Representative Jim Jordan has raised so-called “fundamental issues” over allegations that MP Eric Swalwell was threatened by a suspected Chinese spy.

In an exclusive interview, Jordan told “Sunday Morning Futures” that he wanted to know what the Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, California, knew “when she hired a Swalwell representative to the Intelligence Committee”.

“SHE [Pelosi] you get all kinds of briefings, ”Maria Bartiromo told the presenter. – He’s giving instructions, I’m not. You get information that you certainly don’t get, so what did you know when you selected it?

On Thursday, in a FOX Business “Morning with Maria” conversation, Senator Rick Scott, R-Fla. He expressed similar concerns and explained why he thought Swalwell, California, should be removed from the House Intelligence Committee, noting that the Democratic congressman “had access to information that could harm us,” given his alleged “relationship with the Chinese Communist Party”.

The Republican senator warned that Swalwell “got our top secrets” because he works on the House Intelligence Committee.

“It’s so basic. Nancy Pelosi cannot allow her to remain on the secret service committee. ”Scott said a day after he sent a letter to the house president asking Swalwell to leave the committee.

A one-year investigation by Axios revealed links between Swalwell and a suspected Chinese spy, Fang Fang, also known as Christine Fang. The report indicated that Fang was targeting emerging local politicians, including those who may have become national figures.

Swalwell silenced her previous relationship with Fang, who allegedly had a relationship with at least two Midwestern mayors. Asked how Swalwell came into contact with Fang, his office declined to comment.

According to Axios, federal investigators held a security briefing for Swalwell in 2015, warning them of their concerns about Fang. An intelligence official told the news agency that Swalwell had severed contact with him not long after.

On Wednesday, Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said the Speaker was “fully confident” in Swalwell and in his ability to serve on the Intelligence Committee. He told Fox News that the speaker will support Swalwell’s ongoing service on the committee, which has access to classified material and oversees the activities of the U.S. intelligence community.

In 2015, Pelosi appointed Swalwell to the secret body that led the investigation into President Trump’s indictment.

On Sunday, Jordan told Baritromo another “key question”: “Why do Democrats always get defensive briefings?”

– We know the senator [Dianne] Feinstein was briefed when his office had a relationship with a Chinese spy, ”Jordan said. – We know that Mr Swalwell was briefed on information from the history of Axios and the rest of the week, but [it] Republicans never seem to receive defensive briefings.

He stressed that Republicans are “standing up.”

He pointed to a meeting that took place on January 6, 2017 at Trump Tower in New York, when the then-elected Trump was informed by a number of officials – including FBI’s now fired director, James Comey, and John Brennan, who was director at the time. and the CIA.

According to Jordan, Comey “allegedly holds a defensive briefing for him, but essentially this was set up to leak the fact that they had talked to the president about the dossier.”

Jordan referred to an uncontrolled anti-Trump dossier written by British ex-spy Christopher Steele, who prepared information for the disputed dossier on behalf of Fusion GPS – a company hired to conduct opposition research funded by the National Democratic Commission and Hillary Clinton. campaign through Perkins Coie Law Office.

The file contains allegations about the alleged links between Trump and Russia, which formed the basis of the Foreign Intelligence Oversight Act (FISA) orders against Carter’s former campaign assistant.

Fox News reported in July that the primary source of Steele’s election reports was not a current or former Russian official, but a non-Russian contract employee of Steele. Fox News also reported in July that the source Steele provided as the basis for the dossier was “the best and secondary information and rumors”.

– So this is another key distinction that we need to figure out; Why is this always the case? Democrats receive defensive briefings [and] replaced by Trump President Jim Comey [on] On January 6, 2017, when he talks to him about the dossier, ”Jordan told Bartiromo on Sunday.
