Fortnite Season 5 began on Wednesday after a spectacular event closed its fourth season. Developer Epic Games took off part of the popular battle royale game on Tuesday, and players waited for what was to come next to Fortnite.

Zero Point is the title of Season 5 of Fortnite and is made up of hunters of different realities. The star of the season is The Mandalorian from Disney Plus series next to Yoda Baby. Along with the new characters, players will have new areas on the map, discoverable weapons, and more content throughout the season.

When does season 5 begin?

Season 5 of Fortnite began at midnight on December 2 (PT 9 a.m.), but Epic says the servers will shut down for updating by 4 p.m. (PT 1 p.m.).

What is the theme of Season 5?

Zero Point focuses on Agent Jones, who showed up at the end of the Nexus War event. He has assembled a group of hunters of different realities and they make sure no one escapes the loop. New points of interest on the Season 5 map, such as Hunter’s Haven and the Colossal Coliseum, contrast players to see who survives.

Season 5 introduces new quests and rewards, players are rewarded with bars that can be redeemed for new weapons and abilities. There’s also a new Battle Pass that unlocks custom skins like Mancake for combat flapjack, Mave for Shaper and of course The Mandalorian with Baby Yoda.

What happened during the Nexus War event?

The event began at 4:00 p.m. Fortnite players found themselves on a SHIELD Helicarrier, with the cosmic creature Galactus on the horizon.

The giant walked slowly closer to the island, then slammed down the Helicarrier like a beetle. Known for the devouring of the planets, Galactus aims at the Zero Point, the island’s secret energy sphere that is responsible for all the reality-jumping events taking place on the island.

As players hover in front of the Galactus, Iron Man arrives with a plan to stop the cosmic creature. For each player, he decorated a combat bus with lasers and bombs. The goal is to drive the bus into the huge mouth of the Galactus, but there are drone waves in your path. Luckily, Thor intervened and gave his bus a detour into a ditch, similar to the one Luke Skywalker flew through in New Hope. Here you can hear the new album AC / DC Demon Fire, Power Up, in the background. More drones have begun to surround the bus, and out of nowhere comes Wolverine, who with adamantium claws destroys the wall in the way of the robots. He gets the Iron Man’s word to leave the bus as he watches the Galactus swallow, explode in green light, and be forced back into reality.

The final scene shows Jonesy, one of Fortnite’s default characters wearing a suit, waking up in an office. This is apparently related to the closing event of Season 3, where some organization is behind the insanity on the island, and this is the connecting story of the last four seasons.

According to Epic 15.3 million people attended the event while 3.4 million watched on YouTube and Twitch.

Can I play the event on my iPhone or iPad?

Because of that an ongoing legal dispute between Epic Games and Apple, the game is made from the Apple App Store. This means that even those who already have Fortnite installed on their iPhone or iPad will not be able to attend this event.

Epic Games is in a similar dispute with Google on Android, which has led to Fortnite being pulled out of the Google Play Store, but there are ways to continue to download the game without using the Google Store.
