SLO County reported 106 new COVID-19 cases and 3 additional deaths


San Luis Obispo County reports the deaths of three more people who tested positive for COVID-19.

Public health officials say they were in their 60s, 70s, and 80s, and all three were in underlying health.

The county also recorded 106 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, so by December 9, the county had received a total of 7,071 confirmed cases.

Eighteen people are hospitalized, including seven patients who are in the intensive care unit. Another 930 people are recovering at home, and 6072 people have been recovered, according to health officials.

In San Luis Obispo County, 45 deaths were caused by COVID-19.

  • Santa Margarita – 55
  • Cambria – 44

  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) – 24
  • Avila beach – 13
  • San Simeon – 7

A further 16 cases are being investigated and a further eight are listed as ‘other’, which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Ministry of Public Health does not identify these locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
