Stocks on the track until the end of the week near records

U.S. stocks were higher during Friday’s abbreviated holiday session as gains in shares of technology and healthcare companies pushed the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite to new closing records.

The wide S&P 500 added 0.4% in recent trading, while the Nasdaq reached 1.1%, both schedules pace ahead of the previous closing height set earlier this week. The Dow Jones industry average also hit a higher rate, gaining 56 points to 29,930, but fell short of reaching the new milestone.
