WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita community comes together to support the family family a 13-year-old girl who died of her injuries on Saturday after a stolen SUV dragged her on a Kelloggon. On Monday afternoon, friends identified the girl as Brianna Ibarra.
Wichita police said they died Saturday after a man stole a Ford Escape waiting for his family in front of a Wichita restaurant. Investigators said Ibarra was sitting in the back seat of the SUV while parked. That’s when Kevin Palmer came in. After Palmer drove away, Ibarra tried to get out. He got into the seat belt and was pulled until Palmer stopped the vehicle and ran away on foot.
Wichita police arrested 34-year-old Palmer in Wichita for serious murder.
According to family friend Cheri Becker, Brianna’s death destroyed her family. He said he wants to help them in this difficult time when they remember teen.
– Her smile, her beautiful smile. I never knew him, but I felt his love. I feel his love, ”Becker said.
THE GoFundMe page It was created to support Brianna Ibarra’s family. By Monday night, several contributors had donated more than $ 23,000. Becker began collecting donations for the family through his Venmo account. Becker said her husband had worked with Brianna’s family for years and although she had never met the teen, she wanted to help. He says the family needs all the support they can get.
