The driver died, the Kansas Highway was closed in a FedEx truck accident

Kansas City suburban (Kansas City) officials said the FedEx semi-trailer driver died after the truck drove over the side of a highway bridge, crashed into the road below and caught fire.

OLATHE, Kan. “The FedEx semi-trailer driver died after the truck drove over a highway bridge in suburban Kansas City early Kansas on Wednesday morning, crashed into the road below and caught fire,” authorities said.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. when the truck set off on the side of the Kansas Highway 7 bridge and landed on Kansas Highway 10 near Olathe, police said. The accident led to a major fire that destroyed the truck and stopped all lanes of the K-10 in the area while firefighters fought the flames and police investigated.

The driver’s name was not immediately disclosed.

The K-7 remained open, although damage to the bridge was visible where the truck crossed the site.
