The House Intelligence community calls the Finance Director of Trump Organization to testify to the Daily Beast learned.
Allen Weisselberg received renewed congressional attention after Trump's recorder Michael Cohen repeatedly mentioned Trump Org CFO on Wednesday as president of the various aspects of dubious legal practices, Stormy Daniels hush-money payments to possible insurance fraud.
"The EESC believes that we will get to Mr Weisselberg," said The Daily Beast, Assistant to the Democratic Committee.
Cohen, the marathon testimony of the Home Inspection Committee on Wednesday, does not directly link Weisselberg to the interactions of the Trump camp with Russia, the central interest of the House Intelligence Committee.
But Weisselberg is in a unique position to deal with Trumpon's potential financial transactions or relationships with foreign leverage – chaired by the new Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) For months to report. Trump famously called Robert Mueller's special adviser to investigate his finances with a "red line" that triggered Mueller's shooting, and Schiff entered the abyss.
Shortly after the Democratic Victory in the November House elections, the Democrats of the Committee applied for money laundering and forensic accounting professionals to help track Trump's money. At that time, an Illinois Democrat on the panel, Mike Quigley Rep.
Earlier this month, Schiff significantly expanded the probe focus under Republican rule. Schiff announces that the committee will investigate whether "any foreign actor" is leveraged over Trump, his family, partners or Trump, including financial leverage; and whether the danger of "foreign exploitation, encouragement, manipulation, pressure or coercion" is at any time, or if Trump and his team in the government acted "in the service of foreign interests".
The interest of the Intelligence Committee in Weisselberg is unlikely to affect the similar interests of the Supervisory Committee. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), Chairman of the Supervisory Committee announced Thursday that Weisselberg was one of the witnesses named Cohen, who is likely to be interviewed by the board. The Cummings representative did not respond immediately to the inquiry, but another Democratic representative said the committee was still planning to call Weisselberg.
Weisselberg is unique on Trump. In addition to the CFO, the Trump organization is the accountant of the Trump family. According to the Wall Street JournalProsecutors at the South District of New York, Weisselberg, the financial information on Dumphine, enjoyed a limited exemption from Trum in the horm-money payments of Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal.
"Allen is one of the guys who knows everything," said a former Trump Organizational Officer The New Yorker Adam Davidson, who knows Weisselberg "the person of the company who knows more than anyone else."
