The number of Covid-19 deaths related to American nursing homes and other long-term care facilities has exceeded 100,000, according to aggregated data from the Wall Street Journal for the United States.
Coronavirus disease is particularly risky in the elderly, who have a medical condition, and the homes of the elderly provide these residents with close accommodation. The epidemics also affected other types of nursing homes, such as assisted living facilities, and deaths from long-term care epidemics account for nearly 40% of all more than 260,000 people.
