The passenger died after the minibus collided with the McKinley Memorial in Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) – One person died and another was seriously injured when a minibus crashed into the McKinley Memorial in Buffalo’s Niagara Square on Thursday morning.

Police say this is now a criminal investigation.

“We currently have an accident investigation unit on site to monitor them. And we have also notified the Erie County Law Attorney, as at this point it is a criminal investigation to determine exactly what happened,” said Captain Jeff Rinaldo. with the Buffalo Police Department.

The buffalo fire brigade responded shortly after 7 p.m.

Buffalo police drove the driver down Delaware Avenue when he lost control of Toyota Sienna and crashed into a monument in front of City Hall.

Police said the female passenger died after the accident. The male leader is in critical condition at the ECMC.

Police are asking anyone who has seen a car driving down Delaware Ave or driving irregularly to call their confidential tips on 716-847-2255.
