The PS5 will receive a second performance enhancement system update

Sony rejected the PS5 system update for the second week in a row to improve system performance – but it’s still unclear exactly what the fix will change. The 20.02-02.26.00 system update weighs 886MB, and like last week’s update, its details simply read, “This system software update improves system performance.”

To download the update manually, go to Settings> System> System Software> System Software Update and Settings> System Software Update.Sony has traditionally not commented on the content of system updates, nor has it responded to requests for comments on recent fixes.

Last week’s fix seemed to help fix a download wait bug that has affected PS5 players since launch. We may see new fixes for other PS5 issues reported in recent weeks, although nothing has been confirmed at the time of writing.
