Three people died, including an infant, in an early morning Polk County accident

DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – A frontal collision of a car and a semi-trailer resulted in several deaths Saturday morning in downtown Iowa.

Around 12:48 a.m. Saturday, the Iowa State Patrol reported the collision of a 2002 Volkswagen Golf and a halfway. MEPs believe that Volkswagen, operated by Gustabo Salcedo (28) in Des Moines, has taken the wrong direction at exit 142 in the 80th interstate in the eastern lanes. The car collided semi-frontally.

Salcedo, along with 24-year-old Diana Sanchez-Tello of West Des Moines and an infant whose name has been withheld, died in the crash. The semiconductor is not damaged. Officials said only Salcedo was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, West Des Moines Police, and Altoona Fire and EMS helped respond to the emergency.
