Tiger Woods, a golf legend, was badly injured in an adventurous accident in southern California on Tuesday, officials said.
Woods’ vehicle was heading north on Hawthorne Boulevard, Blackhorse Road, on the border of the Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes, when it crashed and “suffered serious damage,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
Woods was the driver and only passenger of the vehicle, the statement said.
“Mr. Woods was demolished from the wreck with the muzzle of life,” the sheriff added.
He was transported to a nearby hospital to treat his injuries, according to the announcement.
