Trump surprise boasts 30,000 Dow at press conference and leaves in a minute

President Donald Trump briefly appeared on Tuesday to talk about the Dow Jones industry average as a 30,000 failure, then disappeared after a minute without question.

The president’s mini-appearance, perhaps his shortest remark in the White House briefing rapporteur, occurred just a day after his administration took a significant step toward the transition to Joe Biden’s presidency.

Trump, three weeks after election day, still didn’t allow Biden to run. In his speech, which lasted a total of about 62 seconds, he did not mention his ongoing struggle to overthrow the election results.

Rather, Trump boasted of the stock market’s latest milestone, which came at a time when the U.S. economy was still recovering from the devastating effects of the coronavirus epidemic earlier this year.

“I just want to congratulate everyone. The stock market, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, has reached 30,000, the highest in history,” Trump said.

“We never broke 30,000 people, and it happened with the pandemic after all.”

“The stock market just broke 30,000 – it never broke, that number. It’s a sacred number, 30,000, and no one would have thought it would ever see it,” Trump said.

“I just want to congratulate all the people in the administration who have worked so hard and most importantly: I want to congratulate the people of our country because there are no people like you. Thank you very much, everyone. Thank you.”

With that, the President turned and left the briefing room, closely followed by Vice President Mike Pence. Neither Trump nor any other official responded to questions shouted from the White House press body.

– Mr President, will you let me in? they were among the questions journalists asked when Trump left. “Sir, why wouldn’t you let me in for the country, sir?”

It is scheduled to reappear in the Rose Garden later Tuesday, Tuesday afternoon, where the first lady of Melania Trump and the National House of Thanksgiving, a tradition of the White House, will be presented.
